As part of its public awareness generation programmes, the Kerala State Biodiversity Board has launched a series of handbooks and field guides on the flora and fauna of the state. Accurate identification of species in the field is always difiicult and the handbooks of the Kerala State Biodiversity Board are designed to help identification at field level.
Kerala, South India, harbours a variety of habitats suitable for amphibian species. Caecilian Diversity of Kerala is a handbook listing the species commonly occurring in Kerala with their description, and distribution, supplemented with colourful photographs which will facilitate accurate identification. The aim of this book is to familiarise the people with the caecilian diversity and to disseminate scientific information on the subject.
