About this book

This work presents 34 Late Miocene fauna localities of the Moldova Republic with a description of their position, geology, lithology, stratigraphy and taphonomy. The authors addressed several controversial questions concerning the evolution of the theriofauna, as well as the biostratigraphy and palaeogeography of the Eastern Paratethys, by presenting the geology of the most important localities. The lists of accompanying faunas and floras, if present, are also given.
