About this product

The Field Inspection Vane Tester is designed to measure the maximum shear force that can be applied to soil. It can be used for field measurements on the surface, in profile pits, boreholes, or in the laboratory on soil samples.

The measured shear stress is easily read on a clear, visible scale ring. In soft soils, boreholes aren't required; a dummy vane is available to assess friction on extension rods in these cases.

Key Applications:

  • Laboratory and on-site soil testing
  • Civil construction
  • Geotechnical engineering
