The Ecuadorean members of the tribe Vemonieae (Compositae) are here revised. Sixteen genera and 55 species have been recorded from Ecuador: Centratherum (1 sp.), Critoniopsis (23 spp.), Cuatrecasanthus (4 spp.), Cyanthillium (1 sp.), Cyrtocymura (1 sp.), Eirmocephala (3 spp.), Elephantopus (1 sp.), Joseanthus (3 spp.), Lepidaploa (5 spp.), Orthopappus (1 sp.), Pacourina (1 sp.), Piptocarpha (6 spp.), Piptocoma (1 sp.), Pseudelephantopus (2 spp.), Struchium (1 sp.) and Vernonanthura (1 sp.). Three species are described as new, viz, Critoniopsis concolor H. Rob. & V.A. Funk, C. sodiroioides H. Rob. & V.A. Funk, and C. vivarii H. Rob. & V.A. Funk, and one new combination, Critoniopsis augustiniana (Cuatrec.) H. Rob. & V.A. Funk, is made. Keys, descriptions and specimen citations are given for all taxa. All genera are illustrated.
