About this book

Language: French

This book brings together the knowledge acquired on the Tenebrionidae or darkling beetles of Réunion Island. Such a book is important in more ways than one. First of all, it establishes an objective inventory, which is fundamental for the conservation and enhancement of the island's natural heritage. This inventory can be considered as a starting point that will allow monitoring of the evolution of the island's populations of Tenebrionidae. Then, for the naturalist who would like to study the fauna of the island, it constitutes a reliable and precise guide as well as a research "engine": encouraging the possibility of discovering a few more unmentioned species, or discovering new locations or confirming old records. Finally, and importantly, it fits into a series and is therefore a "precious" stone within a larger and more ambitious edifice.
