Biography

Sally S. Weeks was born and grew up on a dairy farm near Winamac, Indiana. She "found" trees later in life, almost by accident while a student at Purdue University. She received a BSF in wildlife management and a MS in Forestry from Purdue's Department of Forestry and Natural Resources. She has taught aspects of tree identification at Purdue for 15 years. Harmon Weeks is a Professor of Wildlife Science in Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University. George R. Parker is a Professor of Forest Ecology at Purdue University. He has developed an ecological classification system for the Hoosier National Forest and is currently examining the context and characteristics of old growth forests in the central hardwood forest region and the impact of white-talled deer on plant communities within public lands.
