Johns Hopkins University Press, founded in 1878, is the oldest continuously running university press in the United States. It began as the university’s publication arm, and in its first year began publishing the American Journal of Mathematics, which continues to be published today. It has been known by its current title since 1972, and publishes 80 academic journals and almost 200 books a year.
The Natural History of the Chesapeake Bay Region and American Land Classics are among series in Johns Hopkins University Press’ catalogue, along with many titles on Earth sciences, environmental economics, evolution, palaeontology and conservation generally.
