BIOTOPE

Biotope éditions was born partly in response to the 1992 Rio Earth Summit and its books radiate passion about the biodiversity of France and the wider world.

Biotope éditions publishes books on flora, fauna, the natural environment and ecology in general, primarily about France and the French-speaking world. Among its recent titles is Flora Gallica: Flore de France, produced in partnership with the Societe botanique de France, and the first comprehensive flora of France for many years. Biotope editions’ catalogue includes monographs, distribution atlases, identification guides, and scientific publications produced jointly with the Museum national d’Histoire naturelle, Paris.

Biotope éditions says about itself: “For some biodiversity is an abstract concept, for others it is a passion, a profession, for some it is even a fight.” Biotope éditions’ books are for those with the passion and who actively want to preserve the natural world. Biotope is a synonym for the term habitat, more commonly used in English-speaking countries.
