Geoffrey Kibby has studied fungi for over 50 years and is the senior editor of the mycological journal Field Mycology and a Research Associate of the Royal Botanic Gardens. Kew as well as the author of many best selling books on fungi.

Mario Tortelli has collected fungi for over 40 years and has a special interest in the genus Cortinarius having studied them in Britain and across Europe.
