Prunus mume is an Asian tree species commonly known as Japanese apricot. In the contents listed in this issue, the percentage of newly bred Chinese Mei cvs. has increased more and more. For examples, among the internationally registered 42 cvs. applied by the Mei Study Group of the Mausoleum, i.e. 45.2%. In this issue, the author classifies Mei cultivars according to International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants, 2004. Three cv. groups have been established under the species (Prunus mume), viz. the True Mume Group, Apricot Mei Group, and Blireiana Group.
