The Ultrasound Calibrator is designed to test that your ultrasonic microphones are performing correctly. The Calibrator has two modes of operation: “Calibration” and “Chirp”. The calibration mode will test the microphone at a close range and the chirp mode will test the functioning of the entire system from a greater distance.
To test the microphone, it is placed inside the calibrator fixture. The calibrator will then generate a 40 kHz tone and the received signal level can be checked on the bat detector and this can then be compared to the microphone specification. For the full system test, the Ultrasonic Calibrator will emit ultrasonic signals to your bat detector whilst it is recording and these recordings can then be analysed to check for correct functioning.
Features:
* Test your ultrasound microphones
* Test the functioning of the entire SM2BAT+ system
* Compatible with SMX-U1, SMM-U1, SMX-US, SMX-UT and SMM-U2 microphones
* Powered by 1 x 1.5V cell battery (included)
WARNING: In "chirp" mode the calibrator emits a 40kHz signal at over 100dB. Prolonged exposure to ultrasonic signals can damage your hearing so please do not place the calibrator close to your ears.
