Wildlife Photographer of the Year

For more than 50 years the Wildlife Photographer of the Year has generated many of the most iconic photographs of wildlife and wild nature on planet Earth. From deep-blue icebergs in Antarctica, preening birds of paradise in Indonesia, swans tiptoeing on a frozen lake in Japan, narwhals breathing through a gap in the ice in Arctic Canada, to a mesmeric, swirling flock of starlings in a wintery UK, these photographs are a reminder of the splendours of life on Earth and the urgency of preserving the natural world.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year portfolios include all the winning photographs from each year’s competition, taken by amateur as well as professional photographers. Wildlife Photographer of the Year is organised by the Natural History Museum, London.
