About this book

The second edition of this popular AIDGAP identification guide is designed to help non-specialists identify the larger (>1 mm length) invertebrates found on land throughout the British Isles.

An identification key is included to enable non-specialists to identify living animals encountered during field studies in most terrestrial or semi-terrestrial habitats. Designed for use with living specimens, using standard sampling techniques, characters which require considerable expertise, or expensive equipment, have deliberately been avoided. Ecological notes are included for all groups.

For the second edition, the taxonomy has been brought fully up to date.

Now I don't claim to be an expert on the subject of invertebrates by any means, but this guide looks to be very clearly laid out and easy to follow. I got this for use with my BSc dissertation field work and I'm certain it will be a great help in clearly and quickly identifying invertebrates.
