Algae of India, Volume 2 deals with 3745 taxa belonging to 328 genera, 62 families of chlorophyceae, 71 taxa belonging to 25 genera, 15 families of xanthophyceae, 93 taxa belonging to 25 genera 17 families of Chrysophyceae and 516 taxa belonging to 21 genera 2 families of Euglenophyceae. The primary purpose of this endeavour is to facilitate the taxonomy diversity and identification of the various species of Indian algae, recorded from within the present territorial limits of the country.
