The Hedgehog Camera Kit is perfect for observing and recording hedgehogs in your back garden. Hedgehogs have suffered serious declines in the UK and by putting up a nest box you can help provide a warm and safe environment for this vulnerable species, and with our tiny cameras you can watch and record these charming garden visitors.
The kit comes included with our Hedgehog Nest Box. This box has been designed by the Hedgehog Preservation Society and approved by Dr. Pat Morris of London University. It is constructed from FSC Exterior Grade European Birch Plywood.
The box also comes supplied with a choice of cameras to best suit your requirements. All of our cameras record in colour during the day and use LEDs to record black and white footage at night. Depending on the model chosen, these cameras either transmit images images to a TV or monitor using the AV/coaxial cables included (Wired camera models), send footage wirelessly via a transmitter (Wireless Camera) or send footage wirelessly to a either a smart device or a computer (Wi-Fi Camera). Please site your home in a quiet position, out of the prevailing wind, ideally in an area with some cover and if possible, cover with leaves and other garden debris.
This camera kit does not come pre-assembled and requires a power screwdriver to attach the camera to the nestbox lid. We reccomend fixing the camera hanger using a 10mm long screw or shorter.
