About this book

In 1959 the brothers John and Frank Craighead began their pioneering study of the grizzly bear in the Yellowstone ecosystem. This book is the culmination of the research conducted by Craighead Wildlife-Wetlands Institute, describing how the Yellowstone study evolved into a battle to protect and perpetuate the grizzly bear. The authors argue that the threat to the bears lies with political and economic systems that demand unsustainable use of land and water resources.
