The Titley Ranger is an ideal recording device designed to record everything from bats to birds and amphibians. The Ranger introduces a new feature allowing simultaneous acoustic and ultrasonic recording, making this device ideal for those looking to monitor both bats and birds. Choose from a range of microphones, including both acoustic and ultrasonic microphones. All microphones can be replaced in the field and acoustic microphones can be front or side-mounted. Front-mounted microphones can also be used with extension cables of up to 100 meters allowing simultaneous recording in different locations.
The Ranger can be deployed for long periods in the field, running for 100 nights in ultrasonic mode or 700 hours in acoustic mode using 8 AA batteries. An in-built GPS with a transect mode is included which allows accurate determination of location enabling scheduled recording at sunset and sunrise times. Customisable scheduling is also available, allowing complex multi-task schedules to be set on the device's LCD colour touch screen or using the Toolbox scheduler built into Insight - a free recording analysis software compatible with the Ranger.
