This book is a comprehensive study of the taxonomy and distribution of Acridoidea of Yunnan, China with particular attention given to the origins, adaptations, evolution, and biogeography of species. Based on data from field investigations and the results of identifying Acridoidea specimens deposited, 6 families, 28 subfamilies, 93 genera and 226 species are described. Diagnostics for each family, subfamily and genus are given, as well as the keys to families, subfamilies, genera and species. Citations and examined material information are provided for each species. Characteristics of 16 new taxa and some previously described species are given in detail. Figures for 22 species and 8 plates are provided. In this book, sixteen new species are described.
