About this book

This is the book that tells you exactly where to go to find the most sough-tafter birds In the deserts of Morocco including precise locations for species such as Desert Sparrow, Scrub Warbler, Mourning Wheatear, Egyptian Nightjar, Saharan Olivaceous Warbler, Dupont's Lark, Desert Warbler, Pharaoh Eagle Owl, Crowned Sandgrouse and many more.

Since writing the first edition, the author has revisited Morocco every year as a tour guide. He has successfully found pretty much all the key species on each visit with the help of local birders. This update is largely based on those experiences plus additional details provided by other international birders.

Media reviews

For anybody visiting Morocco, I would highly recommend Finding Birds in Morocco: the deserts. For the birder visiting the traditional desert sites, this is the definitive guide with no other guidebook or information source coming close to offering such detailed maps and handy hints on where to find the species that you want to see. Dave Gosney's Finding Birds in Morocco: the deserts epitomises how a good idea stands the test of time. I for one can't wait for the next instalment in his quest to update the Finding Birds In... series. -Richard Bonser.
