The book 'FishBase 2000: Concepts, Design and Data Sources' is available together with a DVD or five CD-ROMs. It contains the complete database and all pictures as of May 2004. The database uses Microsoft Access 2000 and thus needs Windows 98, Me, NT, 2000 or XP as operating system. If you have MS Access 2000 or XP you can create your own queries with FishBase data.

The FishBase book has 344 pages and gives in-depth information about the concepts and data sources of FishBase. It can also be used as a textbook as it explains many concepts in the fields of biodiversity, fish and fisheries.
