About this book

Language: Chinese with scientific nomenclature

The genus Rhizopus is a mushroom family, some of which are famous edible fungi, while others are highly toxic. Ingestion of such toxic bacteria often causes poisoning and even death. As a decomposer, the fungus plays an important role in the material cycle and energy flow of forest ecosystems. Volume 52 of the Flora Fungorum Sinicorum introduces the economic value of this fungus genus, expounds its basic characteristics, systematic classification research, and history, and describes 104 species of 18 genera in China. Species and variants, each with morphological descriptions, characteristic illustrations, habitats, distribution and necessary discussion, and indicating whether it is edible or causes acute toxicity. The volume provides a sub-genus search table for this family of fungi in China, a sub-species search table for each genus, and a group search table for the species-rich genus Pleurotus. At the end of the book, there are references, Chinese and Latin names, and colour pictures of representative species.
