This volume is the first of several to deal with the fungus order Hymenochaetales. Except for a few species of mycorrhizal fungi, most of the species in this orderare wood-decaying fungi. These fungi not only have important ecological functions, but also have economic value and medicinal properties. In addition, many species are important forest pathogens. This book briefly introduces their main forms, ecological habits, hosts, geographical distribution and economic value. This volume is a systematic study of the genus Phaeocystis, discussing classification, taxonomic status, biological characteristics, research history and current status of 120 species, including the species not included in the twenty-ninth volume. Each of them is discussed in detail, including morphological characteristics, habitats, distribution, the origin of the study specimens, a discussion of the differences between similar species, and the microscopic anatomy of each species.

Flora Fungorum Sinicorum Vol.57 Hymenochaetales (1) Redactor Principalis锈革孔菌目Hymenochaetales隶属于担子菌门Basidiomycota伞菌纲Agaricomycetes，目前全球范围共发现大约700种。该目真菌除少数种类是菌根菌外，绝大部分种类都是木材腐朽真菌。这类真菌不但具有重要的生态学功能，同时也具有经济价值，如桑黄等重要药用真菌就是该目的成员。此外，锈革孔菌目的很多种类是重要的森林病原菌，如祁连小木层孔菌可造成祁连圆柏大面积死亡。并简要介绍了它们的主要形态、生态习性、寄主、地理分布和经济价值等。锈革孔菌目中的锈革孔菌科在《中国真菌志第二十九卷锈革孔菌科》已经描述了18属106种。本卷是对锈革孔菌目真菌的系统编研，按**分类系统阐述了锈革孔菌目真菌的分类地位、生物学特性、国内外研究历史与现状，包括对该目3科21属120种的系统论述，其中也包括锈革孔菌科在第二十九卷中未被包括的种类。对每一种进行了详细的论述，包括形态特征、生境、分布、研究标本的产地及与相似种类区别的讨论，同时给出了每一个种的显微解剖结构图。
