Flore Nordique du Québec et du Labrador, Volume 4 is the fourth of five volumes on the flora of vascular plants of northern Quebec and Labrador, from the 54th parallel north to Hudson Strait, from James Bay and Hudson Bay in the west, to Labrador Sea in the east. The book is the result of long-term collaborations between several Quebecois botanists. It brings together knowledge and unpublished data on northern plants from boreal, subarctic and arctic environments.

This volume includes an identification key for all plant families growing in this vast northern region. The morphological characteristics of taxa belonging to the Asteraceae and Poaceae are described. Botanical descriptions of each taxon are accompanied by photographs of plants and organs showing diagnostic features, plus a distribution map and a comment on the ecology and habitat of each species.

Il est le fruit d’une longue collaboration entre plusieurs botanistes du Québec. Il rassemble des connaissances inédites sur les plantes nordiques des milieux boréaux, subarctiques et arctiques.

Le volume présente les caractéristiques morphologiques des taxons appartenant aux Asteraceae et aux Poaceae. La description botanique de chaque taxon est accompagnée de photographies des plants et des organes présentant des caractères diagnostiques, d’une carte de répartition et d’un commentaire sur l’écologie et l’habitat de chacun d’eux.
