This Grass Plot Sampler is designed for easy soil and root zone sampling and can take multiple samples quickly whilst walking. Ideal for grassland research and also for use by horticulturists and park managers.
It consists of a 7.5cm steel auger pipe, collecting bucket and stick with steel handle. A sample is taken by inserting the auger pipe into the ground whilst pushing down on the collecting bucket with your foot. The sample is then pushed into the collecting bucket when the subsequent sample is taken.
The 7.5cm version will collect 35ml samples with a maximum depth of 7.5cm, while the 5.0cm version takes 25ml samples to a depth of 5cm. The collection bucket can hold up to three samples.
