The book features a large number of freshwater fish from each region. Rivers and lakes around the world are home to monster fish that have the necessary abilities to survive in their habitat. The first half of this book covers various regions such as the Americas, Oceania, and Japan, and includes the giant Alligator Gar, which is an exotic species in Japan, the cannibalistic piranha from the Amazon, and Silurus biwaensis of Lake Biwa.

In the shallow seas, we introduce monster fish that have evolved to survive in the open sea, such as the giant basking shark, the barracuda with its sharp fangs, and the giant mud skipper that roams the land.
