About this book

Language: German

This multi-volume work provides a comprehensive overview of the entire herpetofauna of Europe. For each reptile and amphibian species found in Europe, detailed species-specific data and information are compiled. As authors, specialists were consulted for the treatment of each species. The careful editing by the publishers leads to a great unity of the complete work.

This subdivided volume of the work includes the second part of the snakes. It is a direct continuation of Volume 3 / I, in which the first part of the adders has already been discussed. This further part of the third volume contains such widespread species as grass snake and dice snake, but also provides extensive information on lesser known species such as the Montpellier snake and the European cat snake. The vipers are dealt with in another band section (3/llB).

The individual species chapters are structured in the same way as in the previous volumes, so that a direct comparison of the biological facts is guaranteed.
