The insect breeder from BugDorm is an easy method for rearing insects from larvae in water samples collected in the field (such as mosquitoes). It consists of a bottom container, into which the water sample containing the larvae is placed. On top of this container is an inverted funnel which opens into a top container above. Emerging adults will fly upwards through the funnel into the top chamber from where they can be collected using a pooter (not included). A nylon screen on top allows for good ventilation and an additional cap is provided for the small hole in the top container to prevent adults escaping prior to collection.
