VHF tags allow you to locate a tagged individual in the field. This is useful for locating bat roosts, nesting birds, animals that spend much time in cover, monitoring habitat use and for studies in animal behaviour.

Lotek PicoPip Tags are designed for a wide range of small animals and have been the tags of choice by researchers around the world for decades. Ranging from just 0.29g, these tags are ideal for bats, birds, small mammals and even larger insects. Simple to start, with magnet removal, these tags are designed to be glued onto the animal.  

We stock four sizes of PicoPip tag. Tags can also be purchased with a shorter lifespan in order to increase range. 

* Ag337 - 0.29g, 13 x 5 x 3mm, 20 days maximum lifespan
* Ag317 - 0.38g, 14 x 6 x 3mm, 33 days maximum lifespan
* Ag379 - 0.42g, 14 x 6 x 4mm, 42 days maximum lifespan
* Ag376 - 0.56g, 17 x 8 x 5mm, 75 days maximum lifespan

VHF tags require a receiver and antenna to track them.

Please contact us well in advance of your study to ensure delivery to your schedule. Several tag options are available including a wire solder starting mechanism and a side-mounted battery (as shown in the image of Ag376). We would recommend that you contact us for more information and to discuss your specific requirements prior to purchasing.

The sale of VHF tags is restricted to those with an appropriate licence or permit.
