The Ltl Acorn 6210 PLUS balances the best features of the 6210 and 6310 to produce an affordably priced, carefully optimised trail camera. With impressive specs and particular effort invested on weather proofing, it makes an excellent choice for wildlife monitoring all-year-round.
The 6210 PLUS records photos with an adjustable resolution of 2, 5, or 12MP, and video up to 1440x1080p (H.264 video format) with audio directly on to an SD card. With a detection range up to 12m and it is perfect for taking quality media in tight locations such as woodlands and gardens. The camera uses three built in sensors to detect changes of heat in the environment that are caused by an animal moving across the field of view. The two outer sensors are known as 'prep' sensors, and when triggered cause the camera to prepare for image capture, allowing for the camera to fire almost instantly when the central sensor is activated. With a 100° field of detection the three sensors greatly reduce the possibility that fast moving animals will have left the camera's view before it is able to trigger. The "no glow" infrared LEDs are invisible to most humans and many animals, reducing both the impact on wildlife and the chances of the camera being targeted by thieves. The LEDs can be manually adjusted, allowing the user to offset issues of reflections 'whiting out' their photographs and videos when using the camera in tighter areas.
Weatherproofing is a focus of the 6210's design, and it boasts an impressive IP68 weatherproof rating. Coupled with it's fantastically compact design, two built in timers, optional password protection, and date & time stamped recordings, it's a perfect option for use in remoter areas or in damper environments. It can run off of just 4 AA batteries, but up to twelve can be held, potentially extending the functional life of the camera by up to six months.
Note: Although rechargeable batteries (of at least 2500mAh) can be used with trail cameras, they are not recommended due to their lower capacity and voltage. Therefore they are unlikely to operate the camera at its full potential, or as reliably when compared with standard lithium batteries. If the use of rechargeable batteries is necessary we recommend Panasonic Eneloop Pro batteries which have been shown to perform well with trail cameras. Additionally, we recommend using a microSD card with a minimum write speed of 10MB/s (also labelled as U1 or class 10).
