This class-sized educational Pond Dipping Kit contains everything you need to start pond life investigation contained in one, durable, easy kit. Suitable for children at Key Stage 2 and above in school or Wildlife Trust groups.
The NHBS Pond Net is good for children of all ages to use as it's lightweight and has foam grips on the handle. The net has 1mm polyester mesh and attaches to the frame using strong Velcro. This means that it can easily be removed for washing or replacement. The net head measures 25 x 25cm and the handle of the standard pond net is 60cm in length. The telescopic net handle extends from 82cm to a total length of 125cm These nets are made by us here at our workshop in Devon.
The heavy duty white plastic tray is used to sort through a catch from your net. Use the bug viewer to take a closer look at a specimen through the magnifying lid then store your specimens in the water-tight sampling pots - just remember to put them back in the pond when you've finished.
The fully-illustrated, waterproof identification key is produced by the Field Studies Council FSC (FSC) and covers the main animal groups found in British ponds and streams. None of the identification in the key goes beyond family level and some of it stays at the phylum or class level.
