Leptoceridae in Australia is a diverse, widespread and common family of Trichoptera. Adults of 130 species belonging to 15 genera are described from Australia, with more than 50 Oecetis currently being described by Alice Wells and additional undescribed species in a few genera. While larvae of many species have been associated, many species still require a name for the larva.
This current work differs from previous work in that it covers the whole of Australia and voucher numbers are used for species that are not yet associated. The author currently recognises larvae of 84 species (excluding Oecetis and Triaenodes), many with voucher numbers instead of names. Regional keys are provided for two large genera, Triplectides and Notalina.
