British Wildlife is the leading natural history magazine in the UK, providing essential reading for both enthusiast and professional naturalists and wildlife conservationists. Published eight times a year, British Wildlife bridges the gap between popular writing and scientific literature through a combination of long-form articles, regular columns and reports, book reviews and letters.
This flora, the first for this area since that of J.H.Salter in 1935, covers the vascular plants of this coastal mid-Wales county. The species accounts give particular emphasis to infraspecific taxa as well as to critical groups and hybrids, and there is more detail than usual on such matters as arable crops, pasture grasses, forestry and street trees. Phytogeographical and ecological relationships of the species are analysed in detail, and comparisons are made with all the neighbouring counties.
Appendices include tables of altitude limits, champion trees and tree growth rates, and there is a bibliography of some 600 items.
