Biography

Professor Dr Jelte van Andel is Professor of Plant Ecology at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. He has long-term research experience in the mechanisms of vegetation succession and in reviewing the applicability of ecological concepts and theories. His editorial work covers the broad field of plant biology and ecology.

Dr James Aronson is a member of the Restoration Ecology Group, Centre for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology, CNRS, Montpellier, France. Since 2002 he has also been Editor of the Book Series, Science and Practice of Ecological Restoration of the Society for Ecological Restoration International and Island Press.
