Parabolic recording systems use a large dish to pick up sounds and focus them onto a microphone located in the centre of the dish. They are very directional and will pick up even very quiet sounds over long distances. For this reason they are the ideal choice for recording wildlife such as bird songs.
This economical package includes a PRO-X handle with 3.5mm minijack cable, a Telinga MK3 microphone and a 56cm (22") foldable dish. The microphone is fitted with a 45 PPF cell foam windshield and has a frequency response of 60-20,000Hz, low self-noise and matched stereo microphone capsules. The plastic separator has the effect of isolating the two different sides of the microphone meaning the focused sound affects the two microphone capsules equally, the resulting effect is that the focused sound is recorded in mono, whilst the background sound is presented in stereo.
The dish is foldable and will pack down to a diameter of 15cm (6"). This makes it easy to transport and store. A soft carry case is also available to purchase separately which will allow you to pack together the microphone, handle and folded dish.
A windshield and tripod mount are also available to buy separately. An online Manual is available here.
