Long one of the most expensive Ray Society monographs on the antiquarian market, this superb Pisces CD-book makes Bristowe's classic work available again as a CD-book.
From the publisher's announcement:
W.S. Bristowe's 2 volumes of The Comity of Spiders were completed in 1939 and 1941, and significantly increase the understanding of the spiders of Britain. As well as distribution by county for the known species, the books cover, in considerable depth, distribution by environment, dispersal, estimates of spider populations, predators and prey of spiders, defence, and mating strategies and habits.
Pisces Conservation are pleased to have worked in collaboration with the Ray Society, the original publishers of the books, to re-issue them in electronic form.
Both volumes are now available on a single CD, for Windows PCs and Macs, with fully searchable text and hyperlinks for ease of navigation.
The quality of reproduction of illustrations and text is excellent.
The books are in Adobe Acrobat pdf format (with free Reader software supplied), allowing high-quality printing of the text and plates.
