Continuing F.N. Pierce's series on the Genitalia of the British Lepidoptera, "Tortricidae" was first published in 1922. Though they are regarded as invaluable for identifying difficult species, the originals are not easily available, and the reprinted versions were considered inferior in quality.

The publisher of this e-book version has very carefully scanned the original book to reproduce the plates and text. Furthermore, species concordance for all the species and their synonyms, with Bradley numbers, were added to assist the modern lepidopterist.
