This is part 7 of a series of monographs on the ichneumon-flies of America north of Mexico. The subfamily Banchinae contains small to moderately large ichneumonids that are internal parasites of lepidopterous larvae, often larvae in leaf rolls, stems or buds. Some are parasites of free living larvae such as cutworms. Many of the species are common and important in the biological control of caterpillars in meadows, forests, and other wild or semi-wild habitats. A few are important parasites of caterpillars in orchards. In this revision there are 277 species (200 in the Lissonotini and 77 in the Banchini).
