Illustrated keys are provided for identification of 202 Costa Rican species of Ichneumonidae, in the subfamilies Anomaloninae, Ctenopelmatinae, Diplazontinae, Lycorininae, Phrudinae, Tryphoninae (excluding Netelia), Xoridinae and Rhyssinae. The treatment of the last of these subfamilies is a supplemerent to the account given in Volume 1. Where known, details are presented about the distribution, abundance and recorded hosts of the various ichneumonids. Five new genera are described. A total of 172 new species, listed in Appendix 3, are also described. All other taxa present in Costa Rica are re-described in a standardised format.
