The TriggerBeam HS Kit is a long-range infrared beam device that can be used in many photographic or video projects. The kit uses a transmitter and receiver to create an infrared beam and a connected camera is then triggered when the infrared beam is broken. The beam has a range of 30m when used in darkness and at least 20m during daylight. The TriggerBeam HS Kit can be connected directly to a camera using the appropriate cable (a 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack cable is supplied; see below for camera compatibility). The sensor can also be connected to the MCT-1 control unit (not included - see the TriggerSmart Kit) which allows the user to control the sensitivity of the sensors and delay the trigger of the connected camera. The TriggerBeam HS can also support the camera’s single exposures or continuous shooting modes, dependent on the camera’s settings.
The infrared sensor and receiver have a standard 1/4" fitting for mounting, and the kit includes two stake pods which can be deployed in soft ground.
When connected to the camera, the trigger time can be adjusted from 50ms to 1.4 seconds. Ideal for when the camera is set to multishot mode. A brief interruption of the beam will start the trigger sequence. For example, cameras that have a 4 shot per second capability will take a sequence of around 6 shots when TriggerBeam is adjusted for the maximum burst time.
